Ash & Brass
A farmhouse where the kitchen had been moved twice and never quite fitted. We took it back to the walls, found the original window opening behind a stud, and built the room around it.

The handles arrived unlacquered on purpose.
Brass that has been sealed stays the colour it left the factory. Left bare it goes darker where hands land and stays bright where they do not, so within a year the kitchen shows you how it is used. The owners were warned and chose it anyway, which is usually a good sign.
Every drawer in the run is hand cut and runs on timber, not metal. There are nineteen of them. That is most of where the sixteen weeks went.
The island is one board wide. We had been keeping it back for four years.
